About

The Story of the Coastal Adirondack Website

ADK is the acronym for the Adirondacks. The Adirondacks, beside referring to the mountain range, often refers to the Adirondack Stare Park which is a massive 6-million-acre public and private protected wilderness area in upstate New York established in 1892.

The area where the Adirondacks meet the Champlain shore is refered to as the Adirondack Coast.

Coastal Adirondack, in our usage, refers to the combination of these two areas.

Since we are close to Canada and across Lake Champlain from Vermont, we have included information about these places as well.

The CoastalADK website was created to help visitors and neighbors discover the places, stories, and local flavors that give the area its character. Through photography, history, practical guides, and our online store, we bring together the scenic beauty and everyday charm that make this region worth exploring.

The CoastalADK website (both CoastalADK.com and CoastalAdirondack.com) is a service of StartWright Resources and is not associated with any regional tourism sites.

Our work is shaped by a love of heritage, outdoor beauty, and small discoveries. Whether someone is planning a weekend visit or rediscovering familiar streets, we aim to make the region easier to appreciate and easier to navigate.
